He was really excited about it until it was time to actually go to bed. Then he seemed to want his crib instead. I had to sit by his bed for a bit to calm him down, and he fussed when I left the room. He slept until about 3-4am, and then he wouldn't settle down until he was in his crib.
He indicated that he was upset because it was unfamiliar.
However, he slept for his full nap in the big boy bed, and even stayed there after he woke up until mom came in to get him. Today he got to pick out his own sheets for the bed (Lightning McQueen and Mater from "Cars"), he seems positive about sleeping in the big boy bed tonight. We shall see.
